🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Uganda passes new anti-homosexuality law outright banning self-identifying as a member of the LGBTQ+ community

On Tuesday, March 22nd, Ugandan lawmakers passed one of the strictest anti-gay laws currently in existence. Although same-sex relations were already illegal, this new bill targets “aggravated homosexuality”. Under this legislation, the death penalty can be invoked for sex acts committed without consent against children, or disabled people, or perpetrated by a serial offender. Those who identify as LGBTQ+ or engage in same-sex relations can be punished by up to life imprisonment.

This comes as a devastating blow as we grapple with newly introduced anti-gay laws stemming out of Texas. At Oben Legal, we know hate has no place in our laws, and especially not in our hearts.
